Steve French has already built some of the most advanced sport fishing boats on the planet. He has been behind the scenes of many prominent brands changing the way yachts are built today.
French has delighted the world with classic and revolutionary designs of beauty for over twenty five years. From his designs for Garlington, Briggs, Spencer, F&S to the Merritt 86′ his eye for beautiful lines is considered the standard by most in the custom sport fishing world. Little known is that his hands on boat building experience rivals the best in the composite community. He started as a teen in a boat yard working on rusty, rotten and broken boats which motivated him to become a changing force in the marine industry. He spent seven years in production boat manufacturing. He advanced to Product Director at Garlington bringing us the famed 44XPS and the renowned 61 flybridge that is still built there today. He finally made the move to directing the construction of private custom yachts in 1991 when he incorporated Applied Concepts Unleashed, Inc.

SF 46 FLYBRIDGE
SF 46 FLYBRIDGE
In 1991 after working with Richard Garlington for six builds, Steve French built his first Flybridge Sportfish the 46’ Poseidon. The vessel was built in all composites as a Positive Flotation vessel which was later put to the test when an owner scuttled it for insurance money. After a Mayday call was received the boat and its captain were found floating comfortably with no danger of sinking.
The 86' Unleashed "Double Down"launched in 2008 and reset the bar for custom composite yachts around the world. French originally designed this amazing machine in 1995, but he didn't meet the right buyer until 2005. Boasting hi-tech composites from one end of the project to the other, including carbon fiber toilets and a custom carbon fiber Warseat in the cockpit; this vessel remains the flagship of French’s accomplishments.
